I received an attachment on my bank account from the bailiff. What is a bank attachment?
If you fail to comply with the court ruling, attachment can be levied on your bank account. In case of a bank attachment, your account will be blocked temporarily and your funds will be used for the unpaid claim. You cannot withdraw any funds during the period of the bank attachment. The funds deposited in your account after the attachment cannot be withdrawn. The bank must cooperate with this attachment by law.
What can I do if attachment has been levied on my bank account?
You can pay the entire amount at once using iDEAL or one of the other payment options. Once we have received and processed the payment, we will ask the bank to terminate the bank attachment. Processing your payment may take some time. Naturally, you can also call us, but we will first need to receive proof of payment by email or fax.
Can I ask my bank to hurry up?
You can also ask your bank to inform Bosveld of the outcome of the bank attachment as soon as possible. Ask your bank to send a “third party declaration” to Bosveld. The bank uses this declaration to inform us whether or not there were any funds on your account during the bank attachment. Once we have received and processed this declaration by your bank, we can ask the bank to terminate the bank attachment.
